Justin’s Story

  • In 2002, at the age of eighteen, Justin Pierson joined the Army Reserve. He was deployed to border patrol from August of 2004 to February of 2005. Later that same year, he was deployed to Iraq, where he served until 2009. Justin came home from Iraq a decorated soldier. He was awarded the Reserve Medal, the Overseas Ribbon, the Army Accommodation Medal, The National Defense Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Medal, and The Iraq Campaign Medal.

  • On August 17th , 2018, Justin lost his battle with PTSD and took his own life. There are not enough words to describe the kind of person Justin was. He was generous, loyal, and the most selfless guy you ever met. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a best friend (the list goes on and on) and the world is not the same without Justin in it.

  • On average, TWENTY veterans die by suicide every day.

These are alarming and terrifying statistics.

Justin’s bravery and sacrifice will not be in vain.
